  When this Liberty-style palace was unveiled in 1903, two voluptuous nude figures above the entrance scandalized conservative Milan and earned the building the nickname “House of Buttocks.” The owner capitulated and removed the statues, making the palace an early example of bold modern design being literally redesigned by public outrage.
