Mori Ogai Memorial Museum

Warum der Umweg sich lohnt

The museum occupies Kanchoro, the former home where Mori Ogai spent three decades and wrote works including The Wild Geese and The Boat on the Takase River. Ogai also held poetry gatherings here that attempted to bridge rival literary groups, attracting figures such as Akiko Yosano, Takuboku Ishikawa and Mokichi Saito.

The Mori Ogai Memorial Museum is located in the former home of the renowned Japanese author Mori Ogai. It offers insights into his life and work, and the literary gatherings he hosted that attracted prominent figures of his time.
