Frieder Schnock is a member of the Berlin-based artist duo Stih & Schnock with Renata Stih. A former curator at the Museum Fridericianum in Kassel, he also headed education at Berlin’s artists association. The duo’s work focuses on collective memory, with the Holocaust as a recurring reference.

Stih & Schnock’s work has been exhibited at institutions including the Staatsgalerie Stuttgart, the Jewish Museum in New York and the Saint Louis Art Museum. In 2015, they were honored as Distinguished Service Awardees by the Obermayer German Jewish History Awards.
