Woods on the northern hill: a lake, alleys, and Mother Armenia at the eastern end, on the pedestal where Stalin stood. The way up is the Cascade or Azatutyan Avenue.
Why go
By day, when the centre is hot and you want the view without the museum halls. In the evening the park is quieter than the square.
Where to stay
Nobody sleeps in the park. The streets along Azatutyan are the quiet edge above the centre, if morning should be at the monument and evening down below.
