Come at sunset, when San Nicolás looks at the Alhambra hill. In the morning the lanes are empty and steep.
Worth a night if you want the mirador without a taxi. The climb is steep for a suitcase. Breakfast by the cathedral is already a descent.

Start at Plaza Nueva and walk up: the streets are steep and cobbled, the Darro stays on your right along the Carrera del Darro, then the lanes turn up the hill. San Nicolás is the high point looking back at the Alhambra, and the cathedral below does not come with you.
