  Bauc Family Resistance Apartment

  Čurda temporarily hid in the apartment and survived a Gestapo raid by concealing himself in the building’s light well.

  Pankrác Prison

  The Nazis installed a guillotine complex inside this prison in 1943 and executed more than a thousand condemned prisoners before the end of the occupation. The Communist regime later reused Pankrác for political executions, including that of democratic politician Milada Horáková, making the still-functioning prison a link between two dictatorships.
