The Märcani mosque, Yunusovskaya square and Kayum Nasyri street are the quarter south-east of the Kremlin, by Lake Kaban. Bauman Street is not inside this ring.
Why go
After the Kremlin, in the second half of the day. Mornings are quieter than the pedestrian street.
Where to stay
A quiet night if you want the lake shore rather than Bauman. The Spasskaya gate is a walk uphill.
