проспект Мира
Prospekt Mira, Yaroshenko Street
The old street west of the park. At No. 11 are the gate and tower of the fortress of 1803, where the Sour Waters settlement began. At No. 19 is St Nicholas Cathedral, and its domes hold this side of the town. A step away, on Yaroshenko Street, is the painter's white villa. Beyond that it is an ordinary town: shops and houses, and no resort promenade.
The fortress of 1803, St Nicholas Cathedral and the Yaroshenko house museum.
A short day once the park is enough, or a first walk if you want the town and not only the resort. The cathedral is a working church. The museum inside the fortress is small; the street matters more than the rooms.
Sleep here if you want groceries, the cathedral and a walk to the park, and you do not need the boulevard fountain every evening. The boulevard remains the resort night. Mira is the town side.

The fortress and the cathedral stand on the same side of the prospect, at Nos. 11 and 19. The Yaroshenko house is at 1 Yaroshenko Street, just off the prospect.
