The western edge on the Katsura: the bamboo grove, Togetsu bridge and the temples on the far bank. This is its own day, not a lane on the way to Shijo.

Known for

Togetsu bridge, the bamboo grove and the temples on the north bank.

Why go

Come in the morning, while the grove is still walkable. By noon the path is a queue.

Where to stay

No reason to sleep here if your base is already by the river in the centre. Come for the day and go back.

The grove starts north of the bridge. The bridge faces the river, and the temples stand farther along the bank.
