    Brera Academy of Fine Arts

    Founded in 1776, Brera trained generations of artists and helped turn the surrounding taverns and lanes into Milan’s bohemian quarter. Among its sculpture students were Lucio Fontana and Fausto Melotti, who later broke decisively with academic tradition.
