Brera Academy of Fine Arts
Founded in 1776, Brera trained generations of artists and helped turn the surrounding taverns and lanes into Milan’s bohemian quarter. Among its sculpture students were Lucio Fontana and Fausto Melotti, who later broke decisively with academic tradition.
Commemorated here
Piazza Armando Diaz and the Lost Bottonuto
Ferrari drew the Bottonuto during its final years as part of his effort to preserve images of disappearing old Milan.
