The Freedom Monument, Vērmanes Garden and the Esplanāde open the boulevard ring. Albert Street and Elizabetes iela hold the art nouveau quarter, and the Nativity Cathedral stands on the Esplanāde.

Daytime after the old town, when the light falls on the facades.
Where to stay
Stay here for quiet streets and a park. The town hall is about ten minutes on foot in the morning.

The boulevards leave from the Freedom Monument. Look for masks and bay windows on Alberta and Elizabetes. The Nativity Cathedral stands on the Esplanade, and Vērmanes Garden is on the other side of the monument.
