The Strelka and the lines
Birzhevaya Square, Universitetskaya Embankment, the lines of Vasilyevsky Island
The Strelka with the Rostral Columns, the university, and then the grid of lines. The eastern end is the display. The western end is quiet embankments where the city runs out into the gulf.

The Strelka with the Rostral Columns, the university and the grid of lines out to the gulf embankments.
The Strelka by day, the lines toward evening, when there is nothing you have to make. Wind off the gulf is normal here, not an accident.
A beautiful base if you remember the bridges: at night the island becomes an island in the literal sense. Nevsky is a walk across a bridge, until that bridge is raised.

See the Strelka from Birzhevaya Square and from Palace Embankment opposite. Farther into the island the streets come in pairs: the odd line faces the Bolshaya Neva, the even line the Malaya Neva. The western embankments by the gulf are quiet; from the Strelka you go by transport, one walk does not finish them.
