Why go
Come at sunset, when the upper street looks over the gulf. In the morning the lanes are empty, and the tower is still a descent away.
Where to stay
Worth a night if the upper churches should be on foot in the evening. It is steep for a suitcase. Breakfast by the White Tower is already below.
