St Nicholas Cathedral, the church of Paraskeva Pyatnitsa and the church of St John at Opoki stand on the market opposite the Detinets. The Volkhov is between them, and the bridge is short.

After Sophia, the same day. In the evening the market churches are lit from the river side.
Where to stay
Sleep on the market bank if the morning should start with the churches, not the walls. The suitcase crosses the bridge once.

The bridge runs from the Prechistenskaya Arch to the arcade of the Gostiny Dvor. St Nicholas Cathedral stands by that arcade. Paraskeva Pyatnitsa is on Bolshaya Moskovskaya, St John on Opoki on Ilyina: they are different churches farther along the market, and they are not chapels of the cathedral. Go back by the same bridge.
