Why go
The first day, the cathedrals in the morning. After lunch the light on the white stone carving is softer.
Where to stay
Sleep on this street: the town is a short walk. The monasteries out of town are separate rides, and the suitcase stays by the gate.

The gate and both cathedrals stand in one line along the edge of the hill, a short walk apart. Georgievskaya drops to the lookout over the Klyazma.
