Vyborg
Monument
Wise Owl at Monetny Dvorik
A small sculpture on a stone that once belonged to the town wall, at Titova 4A.
Architecture
Five Balconies Crossing
A local story about neighbours talking across the balconies. The corner houses keep the restored balconies, including the Tath house at Krepostnaya 17.
Architecture
House with Owls
Crowned owls, lyres and stylized plants decorate this 1909 national-romantic apartment house. Nicholas Roerich and his family lived here from October 1918 to May 1919, and the artist produced numerous works during this politically uncertain pause between Russia and his later life abroad.
Architecture
House with Pelicans
Decorative pelicans on the façade turn an otherwise sober historic building into one of Vyborg's popular architectural puzzles.
Architecture
Vyborg Telephone Station
Ullberg's 1922 telephone exchange on Mira Street. The lost wing is part of this building's story.
Theatre & culture
Former Viipuri Music Institute and Otso House
Behind this commercial facade, Boris Sirpo's music school grew into one of Finland's most important conservatories and made 1920s–1930s Viipuri a serious rival to Helsinki's concert life. During the Winter War, caretaker Hulda Puustell helped pack more than 10,000 scores into crates; the rescued library eventually followed the evacuated institute to Lahti.
Curiosity
Peter I Monogram Rock
A carved monogram and cross on this high rock traditionally mark the command position from which Peter I observed or directed the 1710 bombardment of Vyborg. The carving's personal authorship is legendary rather than proven, but the site became a focus of imperial memory and offers a direct view toward the conquered castle. Sculpture garden in Vyborg
A hidden gem featuring unique granite sculptures in a garden setting.
Architecture
House on the Rock
This small burgher house sits directly on a granite outcrop where two medieval streets meet. Tradition associates it with a prosperous barber, giving it the nickname “Barber’s House”; although heavily altered after wars and sieges, it remains a rare fragment of domestic Swedish-era Vyborg.
Curiosity
Grotto of Wishes
This supposedly perilous cave is only about two steps deep, a deliberate joke in a landscape otherwise devoted to melancholy and reflection. Local tradition promises that a wish made inside will come true, and the tiny passage theatrically reveals one of the park's most dramatic rocky scenes.

Край света в Монрепо
Monument
Vyborg Drakkars
Viking-ship monuments on the Salakkalahti quay, given to the city after Rostotsky's 1985 film.
