Warum der Umweg sich lohnt

This small monument recalls the bridge that carried travelers across Edo Castle's outer moat at the entrance to Ginza. The moat was filled and Sukiyabashi removed in 1958, turning a waterside gateway famous from the radio drama and film Kimi no Na wa into an ordinary patch of city ground.

The Sukiyabashi Bridge Monument marks the site of a former bridge that spanned Edo Castle's outer moat, now a part of Sukiyabashi Park in Tokyo. It serves as a reminder of the area's historical significance and its cultural reference in the radio drama and film 'Kimi no Na wa'.
