Burgher's Estate
This surviving merchant compound preserves the irregular orientation of Vyborg before the orderly street plan imposed in the seventeenth century. Clock Tower
The tower began as the bell tower of Vyborg's cathedral, rising within the fortified town whose churches and houses stood behind the wall attacked in 1495. It survived the transfer of Vyborg from Sweden to Russia after the 1710 siege, later becoming both a clock tower and a fire lookout while the adjoining cathedral fell into ruin.
