Warum der Umweg sich lohnt

The Nicolays' neo-Gothic gates disappeared in the 1950s and were reconstructed in 1982, but Soviet-era circumstances meant that the family's coat of arms was omitted. Restoration in 2017–2022 returned both the heraldic emblem and the metal wicket, restoring the entrance's explicitly aristocratic identity.

The Monrepos Entrance Gates in Vyborg are a neo-Gothic architectural landmark, originally built by the Nicolay family. Restored between 2017 and 2022, they now feature the family's coat of arms, highlighting their aristocratic heritage.
