Vyborg

С детьми

Драккары, замок с рыцарскими праздниками, лось, с которого катаются зимой, и Монрепо с гротом и мостиками. В Монрепо камни и перепады высоты: коляске там непросто.

  • Monument

    Vyborg Drakkars

Viking-ship monuments on the Salakkalahti quay, given to the city after Rostotsky's 1985 film.

  • Palace & fortress

    Vyborg Castle

A medieval fortress built by the Swedes, now housing the Vyborg Regional Museum.

  • Monument

    Hirvi

A bronze sculpture of a moose by Jussi Mäntynen, symbolizing the city of Vyborg.

  • Bridge

    Chinese Bridges

These humpbacked bridges appeared in 1798 after a canal was cut to separate Column Island and regulate the estate's water system. Originally painted in several colors like opened fans, both disappeared in the Soviet period and were reconstructed by the Finnish Pro Monrepos association in 1998 and 2002, this time in white.

  • Monument

    Väinämöinen in St. Nicholas Gorge

The first statue placed here in 1831 predated publication of the first Kalevala collection by four years, so its sculptor imagined the rune-singer as a classical hero with a Roman tunic and lyre-like instrument. Vandals destroyed it in 1871; Johannes Takanen's replacement was lost during the Second World War, and the present figure was reconstructed from photographs in 2007.

  • Curiosity

    Grotto of Wishes

This supposedly perilous cave is only about two steps deep, a deliberate joke in a landscape otherwise devoted to melancholy and reflection. Local tradition promises that a wish made inside will come true, and the tiny passage theatrically reveals one of the park's most dramatic rocky scenes.

  • Park & garden

    Sculpture garden in Vyborg

A hidden gem featuring unique granite sculptures in a garden setting.

  • Architecture

    Vyborg market

A historic covered market building in Vyborg, Russia.
