Vyborg Tram Monument
Vyborg’s tram system operated from 1912 to 1957 under Russian imperial, Finnish and Soviet administrations, continuing despite repeated changes of state and population. The replica car stands near the site of Finland’s worst tram accident, where two cars overturned in 1920, killing five people and injuring about twenty.

Bank of the Nordic Countries Building
Its original Swedish and Finnish inscriptions advertised the multilingual commercial world of imperial-era Vyborg, while the banking hall was designed almost like a temple with the vault occupying the place of an altar. Since 1945 the former financial palace has housed a public library, turning a monument to private capital into a Soviet and Russian repository of books.

Site of the New Vyborg Cathedral
This open site once held the red-brick neo-Gothic cathedral nicknamed the “Vyborg Notre-Dame.” Bombing damaged it in 1939–1944, but its final disappearance was deliberate: the remaining walls were blown up and cleared in 1953 for a Soviet theater that was never built.
