Chuo-dori, the 4-chome crossing, the walk to Kabuki-za
Ginza is Chuo-dori, a wide street of windows and department stores. The heart is the 4-chome crossing and the Wako clock. The eastern edge is Kabuki-za. On weekend and holiday afternoons the cars leave the main street and people walk the roadway. The side streets are the smaller shops.

Come by day on a weekend, when Chuo-dori is given to people on foot. On a weekday it is a business street where people also shop. The evening works while the department stores are lit. Late, the area empties.
An even base between Tokyo Station and the old east. In the morning the Tsukiji outer market is a short walk, and the day is for shops. The night city is a ride away. When the windows go dark, the street is quiet.

The landmark is the 4-chome crossing and the Wako clock. Kabuki-za stands further east, by Higashi-Ginza station: that is the edge of the walk. The Tsukiji outer market is farther east again, and it takes a morning rather than extending the windows.
