Perché vale la deviazione

Bahe began as a Cantonese-opera performers’ association in 1889, organizing a precarious trade of itinerant companies and specialized stage workers. In 1946 overseas performers in the United States and Singapore contributed US$10,000 to purchase this Enning Road headquarters, helping the opera community rebuild after war and displacement.

Bahe Guild Hall began as a Cantonese-opera performers’ association in 1889 and became a cultural hub for opera performers. It played a crucial role in rebuilding the opera community post-war.

Scholar-official Li Wentian used this secluded building as a study and private library reputed to contain around 100,000 volumes.
