Perché vale la deviazione

Most of Guangzhou's walls and gates were removed when roads were driven through the old city in the early Republican era. Here, the lower remains of the Ming-era western barbican survive partly beneath Zhongshan Seventh Road and partly attached to later houses, turning a busy junction into an archaeological puzzle.

The Ximenkou West Barbican Ruins are the remnants of a Ming-era structure, partially hidden beneath Zhongshan Seventh Road and integrated into later buildings, offering a glimpse into Guangzhou's historical architecture.
